MOBIUS Curriculum
The MOBIUS curriculum is designed to introduce students to solid waste management systems and the problems that arise when waste is not managed effectively. They will learn the cyclical nature of our environment, as well as the New Three Rs of the solid waste disposal solution: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Throughout the program students are encouraged to participate in creative individual and community-wide solutions to the solid waste disposal problem.

MOBIUS Chapter 1: Fitting Trash into Tomorrow
In This Chapter: Students will learn about landfills, incineration, composting and the role each plays in managing solid waste.
MOBIUS Chapter 2: Fitting Trash into Yesterday
In This Chapter: Students will learn how trash was handled in the past, and how our current methods of disposal have evolved by comparing nonindustrialized cultures with modern society.
MOBIUS Chapter 3: Fitting Trash into Today
In This Chapter: Students will learn how our consumer-oriented economy and each person's daily decisions contribute to the waste problem.
MOBIUS Chapter 4: Fitting Trash into the World
In This Chapter: Students will explore their connection and contribution to the waste disposal problem by looking at the contents of a ton of trash.
MOBIUS Chapter 5: Fitting Trash into Your Pocketbook
In This Chapter: Students will learn how packaging choices affect the price of certain products.
MOBIUS Chapter 6: Fitting Trash into Every Day
In This Chapter: Students will explore and demonstrate team building and leadership by coordinating and participating in a classroom recycling project for their own classroom or for a number of classes in the school.
