Trash & Recycling Cart Information
Need a cart?
With Boise's new "Curb It" program all City residences will have a trash and recycling cart provided at no additional cost. Blue and grey carts are available in 95-, 65- and 48-gallon sizes.
Additional carts (recycling and trash) are available for $1 per cart per month.
Cart Sizes
When deciding which cart is right for you, it is best to plan for the times you produce the most trash. During the summer, lawn clippings and yard waste typically account for a 50% increase in trash for most residents. Unless you compost, this yard waste will need to fit in your trash cart (with the lid closed!).
The average Boise household disposes of three 32-gallon cans of trash-including yard waste-each week. This is equivalent to a 95-gallon cart. Two trash cans is equivalent to a 65-gallon cart and 1.5 trash cans is equivalent to a 48-gallon cart. Remember, recycling service is EVERY OTHER WEEK, so round up in size!
